DISASTER RESOURCES FOR THE WESTERN KENTUCKY AND MAYFIELD, KENTUCKY TORNADO OUTBREAKS

Tom Pugh Dec. 11, 2021

Lawyers can help too. The Kentucky Bar Association or perhaps Young Lawyers Division had a hotline for pro bono services for disasters and emergencies. We are currently looking at resources for anyone who is suffering from the rash of deadly tornados in Western Kentucky, Mayfield, Kentucky, Madisonville, Kentucky, and various other communities in that region.

Here are some links to help

Here is a link to a guide by the Kentucky Access to Justice Commission, with tips on what to do after a disaster: https://kycourts.gov/Legal-Help/Documents/kajc_disasterplanguide_2019.pdf

Here is a link to the National Disaster Legal Aid website: https://www.disasterlegalaid.org/legalhelp/item.5375-Helpful_Disaster_Resources

Here is a link to Kentucky Legal Aid, which I think covers the bulk of Western Kentucky, except maybe Louisville. But I fear they are going to get overwhelmed: https://www.klaid.org/pro-bono

If anyone needs emergency legal help for legal issues surrounding the outbreak of deadly tornados, then call us and we will help out in any way we can. We will update this blog as we get more resources, and will likely repost this to various social media websites.
